JA Azerbaijan Announces Volunteer Recruitment for 2009 Student Companies Program

Dear Partners,
Junior Achievement Azerbaijan is pleased to announce the recruitment of volunteers for the 2009 Student Companies Program.
JA Student Companies Program provides basic economic education for high school students. By organizing and operating an actual business enterprise, students not only learn how businesses function, they also learn about the structure of free enterprise system and the benefits it provides. The program covers actual steps of setting up a company and its departments; defining the roles of leadership and employees; developing departments’ and company business plans and output producing and selling.

Lessons Timeline: Once a week from November till April or more flexible schedule depending on volunteer availability

The Role of the Volunteer:

  • The volunteer will support the group of students who will create a school-based business and write its business plan. To help the volunteer, JAA will provide program materials and a teacher, who participated in JAA training program, to work with students.
  • The volunteer is responsible for assisting the students to come up with a business idea and a product/service, to write a business plan, and to create a presentation and a stand to represent the business. The volunteers are in no way allowed to write a business plan instead of the students.
  • When and if possible, the volunteers are requested, but not obligated to facilitate business operations of the student-created companies within the school until the final competition day in May.
