In September 2009, the American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan (AmCham) donated 5,000 AZN (6,250 USD) in support of the School Economics Education Program (SEE). In May 2009, Junior Achievement Azerbaijan had the honor to welcome Mr. Seymour Khalilov, BP Azerbaijan, and Ms. Ineke Botter, Bakcell Limited, as the new members to the Board of Directors. JAA Board of Directors is comprised of key business leaders, who determine the organization’s mission and purpose. Currently, chaired by Mr. Daniel Matthews, Baker & McKenzie, the JAA Board includes the representatives from StatoilHydro, Chevron, USAID, American Chamber of Commerce, ExxonMobil, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
BP and its co-ventures and JA Azerbaijan signed the contract for 2009/2010 for the implementation of the Community Economics and Business Education Program – Phase II in the regions affected by Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline.
