In February 2010, JA Worldwide launched the 2010 Global JA Titan Challenge that annually engages 1,000 student teams from 69 countries. During the online contest built on the business simulation software, the students act as CEOs of imaginary businesses and make decisions on key factors that affect overall business performance: price, production, capital investment, marketing, research and development, and charitable giving.
The international contest is a part of the 2008-2010 School Economics Education Program, which is funded by Statoil Absheron, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and Chevron Khazar as main supporters, and Azerbaijan Ministry of Youth and Sport, Baker & McKenzie, American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan, and Bakcell as associate partners.
This year with the support of funding companies, JAA provided the access and technical training for 50 Azerbaijani student teams to participate in the contest. In March 40 of these students advanced to the semi-finals of the prestigious competition. The competition will continue until June 2010 and the winners will receive cash awards. The students from Azerbaijan won the competition in 2007 and annually reach the global finals since 2004.
