| American Chamber of Commerce Donates for School Economics Education Program |

In September 2009, the American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan (AmCham) donated 5,000 AZN (6,250 USD) in support of the School Economics Education Program (SEE). The funding will be allocated for the implementation of the JA Titan TM business simulation component, the National Management and Economics Competition for 105 secondary school students, and the JA Job Shadow Program for 6 students.
The SEE Program is supported by the coalition of companies, such as StatoilHydro, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), Chevron, Baker & McKenzie and Bakcell. By joining the coalition, AmCham will contribute to the program that in 2009/2010 will:
- Support economic and business education in 230 high schools in 20 regions
- Develop business workforce through economics education
- Provide entrepreneurship training and experiential learning opportunities
- Teach high school students work-readiness and counsel on career decisions
- Provide essential financial literacy through training and hands-on activities
- Prepare the Ministry of Education to assume JA Economics class and its curriculum
