Bakcell, the first mobile operator of Azerbaijan, awarded 15 students studying at the technical universities of Azerbaijan with certificates of completion the training course on “Introduction to Mobile Telecommunications Business” on 30 June, 2010.
In August 2009, Bakcell in partnership with Junior Achievement Azerbaijani (JAA), one of the world-wide leading organizations dedicated to educating youth about work-readiness and entrepreneurship, initiated a new project aiming at providing Azerbaijani undergraduate students to learn the complex world of mobile telecommunications through work-readiness and career-specific training, and on-site job shadow experience. The beneficiaries of the project are 54 third- and forth-year students from Baku State University, Azerbaijan State Oil Academy, Gafgaz University, and Azerbaijan State Economic University. The project consisted of 5 stages including student recruitment, work-readiness training, Introduction to Mobile Telecommunications Business Instructions, on-site Job Shadow program and the International Trade Fair.
Ayaz Abdullayev, from Baku State University and Almaz Ibrahimova, from Azerbaijan State Oil Academy, who demonstrated the highest performance grades during the training course, will join the International Trade Fair by JA Young Enterprise Europe to be held on July 20-23 in Cagliari, Italy.
At the presentation ceremony of certificates, Ms. Ineke Botter, Bakcell’s CEO congratulated students with the completion of the training. “It was a great pleasure to work with the most successful 15 students in learning about careers on-site at Bakcell through Job Shadow program which helped them in exploring career opportunities in the telecommunication business”, Ms. Botter said.
